    Tap Door is an online craft beer marketplace that connects beer lovers with some of the best independent breweries across the UK and Europe. With hundreds of craft beers to choose from, Tap Door champions variety and quality, providing a platform that helps indie breweries reach a wider audience and grow their business.

     

    The Brief

    Tap Door came to us with a brand name, initial logo and some website concept ideas. Our goal was to create a distinct and ownable brand identity, that was modern, memorable, and deeply connected to the craft beer world. We then needed to apply this consistently across digital and print.

    The Challenge

    Tap Door’s existing illustration-led aesthetic was weak and we needed to take a few steps back to strengthen Tap Door’s core identity – the logotype and colour palette. The biggest challenge? Designing their e-commerce website. The initial visuals felt outdated, and there were missed opportunities to make the user experience more engaging and immersive.

    Creating the Brand Identity

    We refined the brand’s colour palette and updated the logo—adding a beer glass icon for instant recognition. To create a stronger visual connection to craft beer, we introduced high-quality beer photography, blending it with flat graphics and wavy patterns, on marketing collateral.

    Revamping the Digital Experience

    While Tap Door’s website was functional, it lacked the visual impact and engagement needed to elevate the brand experience. We refreshed the overall design, improving product showcasing and making the site more user-friendly and visually appealing.

    Crafting Impact at BeerX

    BeerX, the UK’s leading craft beer trade show, was a huge opportunity for Tap Door to gain exposure. The event brings together independent breweries to connect, invest, and explore industry innovations. We designed an eye-catching exhibition stand and engaging print materials to attract the B2B audience.

    The standout feature? A custom isometric-style graphic that visually represents who Tap Door is—an all-in-one platform combining sales channels, software, and beer fulfillment, built specifically for breweries.

    Building a Strong Social Media Presence

    To boost Tap Door’s visibility and engagement online, we created bold, thumb-stopping visuals that combined punchy text with simple iconography, delivering witty, attention-grabbing statements. This was balanced with lifestyle photography and user-generated content (UGC) to create a relatable and well-rounded social presence.

    Harnessing the Holidays with Standout Marketing

    The Christmas season was the perfect opportunity for Tap Door to position itself as the ultimate gift for craft beer lovers. We developed a two-month festive campaign featuring thematic graphics, videos, and animations, striking a balance between entertainment and promotion while showcasing their Christmas beer collection. The result? One of their most successful and memorable campaigns to date.

    By developing Tap Door’s brand identity from the ground up, we transformed it from a weak aesthetic into a cohesive and recognisable brand. We went beyond merely refining visuals—we established a clear, ownable identity that authentically connects Tap Door to the craft beer industry.
